This imported Peruvian single-strand beading wire is nickel, plated with alpaca silver, an alloy of nickel, copper and zinc. It has the appearance of silver but will not tarnish like sterling. It is roughly 20 gauge, 0.80 mm in metric terms. It is sold by weight. This coil weighs 100 grams (3.5 oz.) and is about 25 yards long.
