Native Americans throughout the Amazon basin have long used the seeds and nuts of a variety of trees and plants make necklaces, bracelets and other jewelry. This 1 oz. lot contains about 80 hand-drilled seeds of an Amazonian thorny vine called uña de gato, cat's claw in English(Uncaria tomentosa). Is bark, roots and leaves have long been ground into a powder and ingested for its medicinal properties.These seeds are chocolate brown with streaks of a darker seed coat. They are from Peru are were drilled by Pervuian crafts people. They have a barrel shape and are fairly uniform in size, about 10 mm tall and 8 mm in diameter through the middle, with 1 mm holes.
