These ten ceramic tube beads were hand-made and hand-decorated in Pisac, Peru.
The beads were shaped then engraved with classic Andean geometric designs before the clay was fired, giving them an unusual textured appearance. After firing, they were painted with special mineral-based pigments. They are not glazed but varnished.
This lot includes ten each of five different models. All five models are molded the same but painted differently. Because they are handmade, there are slight variations in the sizes of the beads. In general they are about 20 mm tall and 8 mm in diameter, with 4 mm holes.
