These ten high-quality ceramic beads were hand-made and hand-painted by expert Peruvian crafts people. The beads were shaped and fired, painted and glazed, then fired a second time for a true ceramic hardness. They were painted with special mineral-based pigments, not artificial dyes.

The painters describe themselves as artists, and with justification. The marbled design is a play of greens, blues and pinks, suggesting spring. Because they are handmade, there are variations in the sizes of the beads and in the sizes and positions of the holes. They are rondels, about 13 mm in diameter and 10 mm thick, with holes 3-4 mm in diameter.
