These 20 high-quality ceramic round beads were hand-made and hand-painted by expert Peruvian crafts people. The cl;ay wasshaped and fired, painted and glazed, then fired a second time for a true ceramic hardness. The beads were painted with special mineral-based pigments, not artificial dyes.
The painters describe themselves as artists, and with justification. The marbled design is a play of browns and pinks, suggesting summer. Because they are handmade, there are variations in the sizes of the beads and in the sizes and positions of the holes. They are slightly flattened off spherical, about 9 x 8 mm in diameter, with 3 mm holes.
