This 16 in. strand includes 20 Andean alabaster tube beads hand-cut and drilled by Peruvian crafts people. The beads are coated with a clear solution that helps to smooth and protect them and enhances their luster but they are not treated or otherwise altered.

Because they are hand-cut, there are variations in the sizes of the beads and the sizes and positions of the holes. In general, they are about 20 mm long and 9 mm in diameter. There are smaller rondelles on either end of the strand. The holes are 1-2 mm in diameter.
