This 16 in. strand includes about 40 gray-blue Peruvian angelite (anhydrite) stone beads hand-cut by Peruvian crafts people. The colors are the natural colors of the stone and vary from one to the next. Some have some natural browning and streaking. The beads are coated with a clear solution to smooth and protect them and bring out their luster but are untreated and otherwise unaltered.

These beads were hand-cut in a round shape, drilled, and polished by Peruvian crafts people. Because they are hand-carved, there are variations in the sizes of the beads and in the sizes and positions of the holes. They are roughly spherical, about 13 mm in diameter, with 1 mm holes.
