This 16 in. strand includes 17 Andean red jasper beads, hand-carved in a almond or oval shape by Peruvian artesanos. There are three small rondelles on either end.

Because they are hand-carved, there are variations in the sizes of the beads and in the sizes and positions of the holes. They are about 23 mm long, 15 mm wide and 5 mm thick. The holes are 1-2 mm in diameter.

The colors are the natural colors of the stone and vary from one to the next. The beads are covered with a clear varnish to help smooth and protect them and enhance their luster.
