This 16 in. strand includes about 100 Andean burnt-orange red jasper beads, hand-carved in a rondelle shape by Peruvian crafts people. Because they are hand-carved, there are variations in the sizes of the beads and in the sizes and positions of the holes. They are about 4 mm in diameter and 3-4 mm thick. The holes are about 1 mm.

The colors are the natural colors of the stone and vary from one to the next. The beads are coated with a clear lacquer to help smooth and protect them and bring out their luster.
