This 17 in. strand includes 41 round Andean black onyx beads, hand-cut, hand-drilled and polished by Peruvian crafts people.

Because they are handcut, there are variations in the sizes of the beads. They are roughly spherical, in graduated sizes from 10-12 mm in diameter. The holes are small, 1 mm or less in diameter.

The colors are the natural colors of the stone and vary from one to the next. Some have pyrite inclusions, a feature common in Peruvian black onyx.
