This 16 in. strand includes about 30 Andean serpentine stone beads hand-cut in a rectangle shape and drilled by Peruvian crafts people. The beads are coated with a clear solution that helps to smooth and protect them and enhances their luster but are untreated and otherwise unaltered.

Because they are hand-cut, there are variations in the sizes of the beads and the sizes and positions of the holes. They are about 14 mm long and 8 x 8 mm on the end, with 1 mm holes. The ends are joined with a stainless steel screw clasp, making this strand ready for restringing.
