This 16 in. strand includes 21 Andean serpentine stone beads. The beads were hand-cut in a rectangle shape and drilled by Peruvian crafts people. The beads are coated with a clear solution that helps to smooth and protect them and enhances their luster but are untreated and otherwise unaltered.

Because they are handcut, there are variations in the sizes of the beads and the sizes and positions of the holes. In general they are about 19 mm long and 8 x 8 mm on the ends, with 1 mm holes. There are 8 mm rondelles on the ends of the strand.
