Sodalite has a long history of use in Peruvian jewelry, both in the Andes and on the coast. It is frequently found in burials during archaeological excavations and continues to be used today.
This is a 36 in. strand of Bolivian sodalite chip beads hand-cut in Peru. Their finish is coated with a clear laquer which helps to smooth them out and protect them.
