These 20 ceramic barrel beads were hand-made and hand-painted by expert Peruvian crafts people. The clay was fired, painted and glazed, then fired a second time for a true ceramic hardness.

These beads are decorated with the red and white colors of the Peruvian flag, with PERU written across the white band in the middle. Because they are handmade, there are slight variations in the sizes of the beads and their decoration. Each is about 15 mm tall and 10 mm in diameter. The holes are about 3 mm in diameter.
