This 16 in. strand includes about 22 Andean soapstone beads hand-cut in a tube or cylinder shape, drilled, and polished by Peruvian crafts people. The beads are coated with a clear solution that helps to smooth and protect them but they are not treated or otherwise altered.

The color is mostly brown but because these are cut from natural stone some strands may vary slightly from the example shown. Because they are hand-cut, there are variations in the sizes of the beads and the sizes and positions of the holes. They are about 17-18 mm long and 8 mm on a side, with 1.5 mm holes.
