This 16 in. strand includes about 23 Andean soapstone beads. The beads were hand-cut, drilled, and polished by Peruvian crafts people. The beads are coated with a clear solution that helps to smooth and protect them but they are not treated or otherwise altered.

These beads are cut in a faceted nugget shape. They are mostly shades of brown but because they are natural stone, some strands may vary slightly from the example shown.

Because they are hand-cut, they vary in size, but are about 18 mm long and 10 mm in diameter, with 1.5 mm vertical holes.
