This strand includes 174 Andean chrysocolla (gem selica) beads, hand-cut in a rondelle shape and sanded smooth by Peruvian artesanos. The beads are waxed to help smooth and protect them but they are not treated or otherwise altered.

Because they are hand-cut, there are variations in the sizes of the beads and the sizes and positions of the holes. They vary from 3-5 mm in diameter and are 2-3 mm thick. The holes are small, 1 mm or less in diameter.
