This 16 in. strand contains 76 Peruvian gray-blue angelite stone beads. Angelite is a form of anhydrite similar in color to celestite but less hard and more opaque than celestite. Angelite was first identified in Peru in 1987, during the Harmonic Convergence, hence its name. These beads were handcut in a rondelle shape, drilled, and polished by Peruvian crafts people. The colors are the natural colors of the stone and vary from one to the next. Some have some natural pocking and browning. They are coated with a clear varnish to protect them but they are not treated or otherwise altered.

Because they are hand-carved, there are variations in the sizes of the beads and in the sizes and positions of the holes. They are about 11 mm in diameter and about 4-5 mm thick, with 1 mm holes.
