These 50 ceramic lentil beads were hand-made and hand-painted by expert Peruvian crafts people. They were shaped and fired, painted and glazed, then fired a second time for a true ceramic hardness.
The painters describe themselves as artists, and with justification. The design depicts a llama, a candelabra cactus, and a woman spinning on a drop spindle. It wraps around the beads, so they appear different from different angles.
The lot includes ten each of five different colors, all with similar patterns. Because they are handmade, there are variations in the sizes of the beads and in the sizes and positions of the holes. They are about 18 x 15 x 10 mm, with 2 mm holes. The holes run vertically in relation to the designs.
